Hemp has been grown and appreciated in Northern Thailand for over a thousand years. The Mhong people use generations of experience to grow hemp organically. Hemp is a highly sustainable plant that grows quickly, requires minimal water, and needs no pesticides or herbicides. Its deep root system helps prevent soil erosion, absorbs more CO₂ than trees, and is considered a carbon-negative crop.
Hemp is harvested traditionally by hand.
The Hmong people use their generations of experience to turn the raw material into suitable yarn. This is a natural and sustainable process which is positive for the environment and the final material.
Hemp is woven on hand looms, the traditional way. The Hmong process is time consuming with fabrics that have. stood the test of time. This creates a sustainable natural material with a
positive impact on the community and planet.
